ART CONVERGENCE 2014
NOVEMBER 13 TO JANUARY 9
Art Convergence will be a showcase of quality artwork currently being created by contemporary artists in the Northwest. It will be an exhibit of both two-dimensional
artwork juried by Karen Hackenberg and three-dimensional sculptures juried by
Margie McDonald. The artists selected for Art Convergence will have the opportunity
to exhibit in one of the most beautiful venues on the Olympic Peninsula, the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Artworks from this exhibit will be available for purchase to the public over the holiday season.
All entries must be submitted online at www.pafac.org by no later than Friday, October 24, 2014. Entry fee in $25 for two artworks and artist juried into the exhibit will compete for the following cash awards:
Best Of Show, $1000
1st Place 2D, $300
1st Place 3D, $300
Honorable Mention 2D & 3D, $100

Celebrating football season and our own Super Bowl-winning Seahawks, Dr. Toni Jensen and the staff of Hurricane Ridge Veterinary Hospital is pleased to announce the ‘12th Dog/12th Cat Photo Contest”. Send us a favorite photo of your dog or cat in Seahawks attire, and qualify for a free canine or feline blood panel and a Seahawks outfit. The entry photos will be posted on Hurricane Ridge Veterinary Hospital’s Facebook page in a special file where viewers can vote for their favorite 12th dog or 12th cat.
The winning entry will then be selected on or after Super Bowl Sunday. Participants need not be a current client to participate. Go ‘Hawks!!!

Ghoulish fun for families
The 7th Annual Harvest Benefit Dinner is hosted by Park View Villas and Jim’s Pharmacy with all proceeds benefitting the Port Angeles Senior Center. Entertainment by “Luck of the Draw.” Event features a silent auction, raffle prizes and the 4th Annual “Kiss the Pig” contest. Tickets are $20 and includes dinner plus two drinks. Tickets can be purchased at Park View Villas, Jim’s Pharmacy and the Port Angeles Senior Center. On the menu: Butternut Squash Soup, Family-Style Tossed Green Salad/Rolls, Herb-Encrusted Prime Rib, Slow-Roasted Pork Loin, Harvest Blend Roasted Potatoes, Green Bean Almondine, Carrot Cake by Toga’s Soup House, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Sparkling Cider, Beer & Wine.
This is our Annual Pumpkin Party/Country Fair Fun for the whole family with Food and Games.

We are hosting a canned food drive to benefit the Port Angeles Food Bank. As Thanksgiving is fast approaching there are many families in the community who are in need. For every item brought you will receive a raffle ticket and will be entered to win a fabulous prize! Here are some things that the food bank are in need of:
Mashed POTATO, Stuffing, Chicken Stock, Cranberry Sauce, and Canned Pumpkin Pie Filling
The Port Angeles Food Bank will also have a table at the game with information about the impact they have on the community. If you can’t bring anything they can accept monetary donations and can provide you with a tax-deductible receipts.

Sequim residents are invited to stop by the Interpretive Center for the project kickoff event or during regular staff hours (Wednesdays 8-10am and Thursdays 12-2pm), where they may view displays and videos on the Stormwater Stewardship project, Bell Creek, water quality, and drinking water aquifers of the area, as well as learn more about “Low-Impact Development” methods for reducing stormwater runoff and protecting the environment.
